"It's smart to fear new things"... really?

Brett asked if someone really said it, and the answer is... YES.

And to answer your question: NO is was not me.

I think it is better put that it is smart to respect new things. Fear indicates that the outcome is likely to be negative, when not all new things turn out negative (otherwise we wouldn't have positive innovation).

But, I do believe that people should observe when something is new, make note of it, and act with that awareness.
